Instruction

“If you play poorly one day, forget it.
If you play poorly the next time out, review your fundamentals of grip, stance, aim and ball position. Most mistakes are made before the club is swung.
If you play poorly for a third time in a row, go see your professional.” – Harvey Penick

Club Fitting

Golf manufacturers have made it easier to get custom golf equipment in the last five years. In the past it used to take golf club companies four to six weeks to ship custom equipment. Presently most companies, once given the proper specifications, can create a special order and have it shipped out in less than ten days.

Golf Shop at 913-685-4653 ext. 5.

Junior Golf - “The best age to start a child in golf is the time he or she becomes interested in the game” – Harvey Penick

The Leawood Junior Golf Academy

Leawood Parks & Recreation Summer Junior Golf Program
Lead Instructor: Julie Roberts, PGA Teaching Professional

The Leawood Junior Golf Academy is designed to take kids from their first swing, to learning everything about USGA rules, proper golf etiquette and solid swing fundamentals. This program will take kids as far as they dream to go, whether it be just learning to hit the ball in the air, or playing competitive tournament golf. Each level is defined by skill level and there are currently four levels.

The LJGA and IRONHORSE Golf Club work with The First Tee of Greater Kansas City to help make golf courses more accessible and affordable to junior golfers throughout the metro and the world. Our programs incorporate The First Tee curriculum, which teaches not only golf skills, but life skills as well.

For more information on The First Tee program or the Junior Golf Academy go to www.thefirsttee.org or www.playgolfamerica.com or call Pat Zuk with The First Tee of Greater Kansas City at 648-7177.
